Summary

Requirements

  • 5+ years of tax & payroll compliance analysis or related experience; or advanced degree and equivalent work experience
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of U.S. local, state, and federal payroll tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements to ensure product and services are compliant
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational and work prioritization skills
  • Advanced demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Excel and tax and payroll systems and how they operate
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality and use upmost discretion when accessing sensitive information
  • Previously demonstrated experience in assessing and mitigating risk related to payroll tax compliance

Responsibilities

  • Research and evaluate payroll tax compliance and setup issues raised by external and internal stakeholders while providing guidance for resolution
  • Proactively track potential payroll tax regulatory changes at federal, state, and local level
  • Find and propose solutions to payroll tax compliance and setup issues, recommend system enhancements, and assist in the development, testing, and implementation of the proposed solutions
  • Research, evaluate, recommend, and summarize payroll compliance implications of new employee programs and/or labor agreements
  • Create, update, and maintain a central repository of payroll compliance narratives and records
  • Partner with third party vendors and developers to resolve payroll tax issues

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPP/EA preferred
  • Knowledge and experience in the SaaS / Software industry preferred, but not required
