Summary

Join NEC Software Solutions as a Portfolio Delivery Manager and lead the end-to-end delivery of projects and programs for the Public Safety portfolio. You will be responsible for ensuring projects meet budget, time, and quality criteria, while managing a team of Programme and Project Managers. This role requires regular travel across the UK to various sites. Key responsibilities include developing and executing delivery strategies, managing project portfolios, collaborating with sales and business development teams, and managing customer and stakeholder relationships. You will also oversee vendor management, risk and issue management, resource allocation, and team management. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in project management, public safety, and process optimization, along with strong leadership and communication skills.

Requirements

  • Experience of operating and influencing at a senior level

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the overall project and programme delivery strategy
  • Define the delivery approach, methodologies, and best practices to ensure efficient and effective product delivery
  • Manage the portfolio of projects and programmes, including resource allocation, prioritisation, and scheduling
  • Ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards
  • Collaborate with the sales and business development teams to assess and estimate the resources, time, and effort required to deliver new opportunities
  • Provide insights and expertise to ensure accurate and competitive pricing, considering factors such as project scope, deliverables, and complexity
  • Act as an escalation point of contact for customers during the delivery process
  • Manage customer expectations, address concerns, and ensure a prominent level of customer satisfaction throughout the product delivery lifecycle
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, such as product managers, development teams, and executives
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project goals, requirements, and success criteria
  • Oversee management of third-party providers, including vendors, subcontractors, and partners
  • Maintain relationships, negotiate contracts, and monitor performance of third-party providers to ensure successful delivery of projects and services
  • Identify and assess potential risks and issues related to project delivery for all projects
  • Develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans
  • Proactively manage and resolve issues to minimise impact on project timelines and deliverables
  • Ensure appropriate allocation of resources, including human resources, infrastructure, and budget
  • Monitor resource utilisation, identify bottlenecks, and take necessary actions to optimise resource allocation and productivity
  • Lead and manage a team of project and programme managers
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to the team members, fostering their growth and productivity
  • Establish and enforce quality assurance processes and standards to ensure high quality delivery of products
  • Implement quality control measures, conduct regular audits, and track performance metrics to drive continuous improvement
  • Foster collaboration and effective communication among cross-functional teams involved in product delivery
  • Facilitate clear and timely communication of project updates, risks, and milestones to stakeholders, team members, and customers
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the delivery organisation
  • Collect feedback, analyse project performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement process enhancements to increase efficiency and customer satisfaction

  • Formulates remediation plans where necessary (Continuous Service Improvement Plans)
