Summary
Join Lightspeed as a highly qualified and motivated Sales Engineer! Based remotely in Cologne, you will play a crucial role in acquiring new customers, managing strategic accounts, and collaborating seamlessly between sales and implementation teams. This position requires deep product knowledge, exceptional technical skills, and strong interpersonal abilities. You will support the account executive team, manage strategic accounts, contribute to the GTM team, participate in events, conduct competitive analysis, and provide product expertise. The role also involves managing RFPs/RFIs, maintaining demo stations, and collaborating with various internal teams. Travel within the CoDuBonn area may be required for client presentations.
Requirements
- Proven experience in sales and solution presentations
- Experience with cloud SaaS technologies in the hospitality sector
- Technical affinity and high willingness to learn new technologies
- In-depth understanding of the hospitality industry; experience in the gastronomy sector is a big plus
- Excellent communication skills β for both technical and business audiences
- Team spirit and the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Fluent English skills as well as native-level German
- Residence in Cologne
Responsibilities
- Support the Account Executive Team: Proactively develop technical solutions for customer needs, assess their requirements, and recommend optimal solutions
- Closely collaborate with our Account Executive Team to acquire new customers and identify potential risks early on
- Work with both our inbound and field sales teams β in the office or on-site
- Manage strategic accounts: Collaborate with Strategic Account Managers to ensure customer satisfaction, strengthen customer loyalty, and identify upselling opportunities
- Support the GTM Team: Actively participate in our Go-To-Market (GTM) team's Slack channels, providing technical insights and real-time support
- Trade shows & events: Install hardware and network, set up the system for trade shows. Present our products and interact with potential customers and partners
- Competitive analysis: Possess comprehensive knowledge of competitor products and strategies to optimally position our solutions and conduct in-depth analyses of local competitors
- Product expertise: Serve as a top expert for our hardware, software, integrations, and APIs, providing in-depth technical information to internal and external stakeholders
- Partnership demos: Conduct Tier-1 partnership demos to support new partner agreements and strengthen existing partnerships
- RFPs and RFIs: Be the technical contact person for Request for Proposals (RFPs) and Request for Informations (RFIs), and collaborate with other departments to gather all necessary information
- Demo stations and accounts: Ensure the functionality of our in-office demo stations for seamless presentations β both on-site and online
- Collaborate with Implementation and Pro-Services Teams: Work closely with our Implementation and Professional Services teams before and after deal closure to ensure a smooth handover and successful implementation
- Close coordination with regional sales managers: Collaborate closely with the regional sales director and managers to optimize processes and meet specific requirements
- Collaborate with Product and Product Marketing Teams: Be the main contact person for product teams to relay customer feedback and support product design questions and roadmap discussions. Collaborate with the product marketing team on product launches as needed
- Take on further tasks and responsibilities as assigned by management
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional European languages are advantageous, but not required
- Basic knowledge of APIs is a bonus
