Summary

Join Planet as a PreSales Solutions Engineer and demonstrate the value of Planet's data and services to organizations across Asia Pacific. You will build relationships with customers, advise on solutions, collaborate with internal teams, and contribute to sales objectives. This full-time, remote position based in Europe requires working from a Planet office three days a week if located nearby. Responsibilities include creating presentations, acting as a trusted advisor, developing account plans, assisting with tenders, and mentoring team members. The role requires 4+ years of experience supporting governments or communities in earth observation, excellent communication skills, geospatial software expertise, and Python programming abilities. Requirements

  • 4+ Experience in supporting governments and/or community in earth observation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Expertise with QGIS, SocetGXP, ArcGIS, GDAL and other common geospatial software packages
  • Ability to successfully communicate and coordinate with international customers & sales team
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and proactive working style
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time effectively
  • Ability to program with Python to process imagery, manipulate vector data, interact with APIs and build data pipelines
  • Ability to lead customer engagements
  • Ability to run workshops or training sessions with users
  • Ability to learn new technologies and industries

Responsibilities

  • Build and deliver presentations and product demonstrations highlighting technical capabilities of Planet’s platform and our ability to fulfill customer’s business needs
  • Create relationships with customers’ technical and management staff as a trusted advisor to their business
  • Act as an advisor to the customer to recommend a solutions architecture that fits their business challenges
  • Work with your sales team colleagues to determine account development plans and execute a strategy to engage customers and prospects
  • Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams including Customer Success, Product Management, and Business Development to act as the voice of the customer
  • Assist with the response to tenders, RFI’s, RFP’s, proposals with respect to product/solution information
  • Attain quarterly and annual sales and operational objectives assigned by management
  • Interface with all Pre-Sales Engineers globally, building a community to improve the team’s technical and sales skills
  • Act as a mentor to team members and lead training to drive their development

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience writing technical proposals for (UK) government tenders
  • Experience working with SentinelHub
