Principal Product Manager

Summary

Join dbt Labs as a Principal Product Manager and work cross-functionally to guide products from ideation to launch, connecting technical needs of users with business needs of the company.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in product management
• Understanding of the personas involved in the work to empower data practitioners to create and disseminate organizational knowledge
• Lived experience building software with successful market adoption, at scale
• Ability to work in a hands-on manner to lead, motivate, and organize teams developing software
• Desire to roll-up your sleeves, connect with customers, build quickly, and refine product offerings
• Built highly-scrutinized business plans and market analyses for executive stakeholder audiences

Responsibilities

• Study, research, and understand the expansion of the analytics development lifecycle
• Define the vision, goals, and strategy behind product initiatives
• Execute cross-functionally to launch new products, improve existing features, test effectiveness of workflows, and facilitate marketing and sales motions
• Inspire teams of people to achieve great things together, while also tying the roadmap within a domain to broader product strategy goals and company goals
• Create tight feedback loops with our customers and prospects, bringing back synthesized requirements that our team builds in service of these stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working with dbt for analytics engineering and/or building data tools and products for data analysts
• Worked with modern data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Spark, Presto, etc)
• Worked asynchronously as part of a fully-remote, distributed team
• Comfort with discussing, explaining, and reasoning about the intersection of dbt DAG development and the broader analytics development lifecycle
