Requirements
- Understand technology and specifically data models, data structures, metrics, and ML/AI, and how it can be leveraged for scale and business impact
- 10+ years of software product management experience, preferably with a focus on metrics, data products and/or machine learning
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a relevant field
- Experience writing functional specifications and product briefs
- Experience conducting user research
- Strong understanding of data structures, data governance, machine learning concepts, data science workflows, and the ability to communicate with technical and non-technical teams
- Proven experience in defining and tracking data metrics to drive product decisions and improve business outcomes
- Experience in working with cross-functional teams
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to use data to drive decisions and to identify trends and opportunities
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Client-facing experience with a strong focus on understanding customer and user needs and translating them into product features
Responsibilities
- Collaborate across Data Science, Data Management, Product and UX, Engineering and Operations to research, design, develop, and launch new data-driven products in alignment with the company’s strategic objectives
- Create clear documentation for product features, including use cases, business processes, data flows and functional specifications
- Serve as the key point of contact between technical teams, senior leadership, and external stakeholders for all data product-related updates, and keep stakeholders informed throughout each project lifecycle
- Partner with Data Science, Data Management and Product on thought-leadership for direction of data products. Create detailed roadmaps and prioritize product features in line with business goals, client needs and long term technology vision
- Lead efforts to define and implement key performance indicators (KPIs). Enable data-driven decision-making by ensuring metrics are effectively integrated into products. Define and track success metrics for each project, and use analytics from feature performance to inform future decisions
- Gather feedback from clients to understand their data needs and challenges. Ensure that our products meet client expectations, drive value, and provide clear, actionable insights
- Drive the product development lifecycle from ideation through to launch, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met. Maintain a project management system that is usable and understandable. Identify and mitigate risks, and remove roadblocks to the efficient delivery of business value
- Stay updated on the latest trends in data analytics, data science, machine learning, and AI, as well as competitive products. Incorporate these insights into product strategies to maintain a competitive edge
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Asana or other project management tools
- Experience working in a growth-stage technology company
- Experience in the solar or renewable energy industry
- Experience in building B2B software
- Experience with cloud platforms, big data tools, or ML model deployment
- MBA or equivalent experience
