Procurement Counsel

Summary

Join Coupa as a detail-oriented attorney to manage procurement contracts, negotiations, administration, and compliance. Requires Juris Doctor degree, state bar admission, 5+ years of in-house experience, good business sense, strong organizational skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, high attention to detail, and analytical skills.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• Admission to a state bar and in good standing
• 5+ years of in-house experience as an attorney, with a focus on procurement contracts

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate a breadth of procurement contracts
• Continuously improve contract management processes
• Provide training and guidance to internal stakeholders on legal aspects of procurement processes
• Identify and assess legal, operational and practical risks associated with procurement activities
• Work closely with internal stakeholders to address legal issues and support procurement activities
• Maintain accurate and organized records of all procurement-related legal documents and correspondence
• Support the management of supplier relationships by providing legal guidance on issues such as performance disputes, contract breaches, and compliance matters

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with customer-facing contracts, or with risk management or compliance is a plus but not required
