Product Design Manager

Summary

Join HashiCorp Design as a Product Design Leader for Vault and help maintain a user-experience focus across the product. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize improvements, contribute to product strategy, and manage a team of designers. Develop a deep understanding of Vault's technology and user workflows, enabling your team to build knowledge through research and user testing. Partner with engineers on feasibility and foster a productive team environment. This role requires five years of product design experience, team leadership, and experience with enterprise software for security or developer experience.

Requirements

• You have five years of experience as a product designer
• You have managed or led small product design teams
• You have experience building enterprise software for security or developer experience
• You have experience enabling a team to turn complex workflows into simple user experiences

Responsibilities

• Manage designers, their priorities, and processes in service of helping the team do their best work
• Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering teams to set priorities, goals, and roadmaps, and help guide product innovations from early concepts to GA release
• Develop a strong domain understanding - the technology and features of Vault and the end-to-end user workflows it enables - and help your team continue to develop theirs
• Enable product designers to build knowledge through generative research and enacting plans to validate designs through user testing and analytics
• Partner with engineers on feasibility, responsiveness, and details of components
• Foster the happiness and productivity of your team by identifying strengths and development opportunities and crafting career plans that help you advocate for them as they grow
• Conduct regular 1:1s, design team meetings, and cross functional collaborations
• Work with internal and external stakeholders to determine and prioritize new features and enhancements critical to the success of HashiCorp customers and community
