Summary
Join Lightcast as a Product Designer II and work across various brands, mentoring other designers, and contributing to the evolution of our enterprise design system. You will be deeply involved in cross-functional teams, translating insights into user-centered design solutions. Responsibilities include designing excellent UI, visual, and interaction layers, partnering with engineers, conducting UX research, and advocating for continuous product iteration. You will also contribute to and maintain design systems. This role offers high individual responsibility with significant impact and reward. Lightcast's design team structure is a blended model, combining centralized UX with pod teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as graphic design, interaction design, or a related discipline
- 2-5 years of professional experience in product design or UI/UX design roles, preferably in a digital product or tech company
Responsibilities
- Embed with cross-functional teams (Product, Engineering, Analytics, Brand) to identify user and business opportunities informed by qualitative and quantitative insights
- Translate insights into hypotheses and user-centered design solutions through sketches, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity visuals
- Design with excellence across UI, visual, and interaction layers—crafting content-first experiences that are responsive and accessible across devices
- Partner with engineers throughout the build process to ensure designs are feasible, accurate, and well-executed
- Conduct or coordinate UX research (moderated and unmoderated) to validate concepts and iterate quickly based on feedback and results
- Advocate for continuous product iteration—leveraging new insights to improve shipped work and proactively refine user experiences
- Contribute to and maintain design systems and reusable component libraries to ensure consistency, scalability, and implementation efficiency
- Present and communicate design rationale clearly to cross-functional stakeholders and teammates, supporting strong decision-making and alignment
