Product Manager

Summary

Join Embedded Medical as a Product Manager and build a truly amazing customer experience. You will be responsible for defining product vision, prioritizing features, working closely with design and engineering teams, and ensuring timely product launches. This is a fully remote, mid-level role requiring 4+ years of experience in a high-caliber product role. Requirements

• Have 4+ years in a high-calibre product role (or equivalent), building great experiences in web or mobile
• Be customer obsessed, focusing on quality of execution for customers to a degree that in everyday life would be considered pathological
• Be excellent in the trenches and at a strategic level, deciding where to move the troops, not getting lost in the weeds, and making sure the company is taking the required big swings
• Be comfortable with design principles & wireframing to work closely with the Designer
• Be excellent at leading product from idea to prioritization to launch to success, with urgency, hitting deadlines & juggling multiple streams
• Be maniacal about metrics, caring a lot about the analytics stack and closely monitoring KPIs to inform future work
• Think in systems to fix the underlying cause of an issue, going through operations to question, delete, simplify, optimize, and automate
• Be annoyingly capable at meta skills, an autodidact with impressive speed and resourcefulness, highly organized, able to complete multiple projects concurrently, and calmly handle uncertainty and rapidly changing situations
• Not use phrases like “Cross-Functional Collaboration” or “Stakeholder Alignment”

Responsibilities

• Build a f ing amazing experience. Make each step amazing. Make every decision in the long term interest of the customer. Give the customer massively more value than you take
• Think about the customer first thing in the morning and last thing at night. Speak with them openly, understand them intimately, and get feedback from them continuously
• Extract coherent jobs-to-be-done (JTBD) from customer insights and place those in the context of the wider market. Clearly define the vision & goals for your product
• Prioritize tickets based on impact & effort, smoothly moving between a multi-year vision and a two-week sprint. Understand the technical trade-offs to prioritize effectively
• Work closely with the Designer to wireframe, prototype, and test, keeping the customer at the heart of implementation
• Lead product from idea to launch to success, ensuring on-time shipping and smooth operations. Educate & train teams on new releases
• Work with the Analyst to track KPIs, (in)validate hypotheses, and inform future work
• Improve company workflows by understanding systems, processes, and tools, questioning requirements, deleting unnecessary parts, simplifying, optimizing, and automating processes

Preferred Qualifications

• Be a doer, having been pulled into important problems, taken risks, excelled in new areas, and possibly founded something
• Be someone who could be dropped anywhere in the world, in any century, and figure it out
• Have a STEM background, and may have a background in engineering, software, computers - or something similar. Be comfortable around no-code tools
