Remote Product Manager

Summary

The job is for a Product Manager in Data & ML Infrastructure at Figma. The role involves building and maintaining a strong understanding of the data needs across the company, defining a vision for core data systems, partnering with cross-functional teams to design infrastructure for AI/ML models, and setting strategy and priorities for teams and projects.

Requirements

• 4+ years in a technical product management role
• Experience driving product for developer experiences, tools, workflows, and/or infrastructure
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive complex projects
• Proven track record of implementing the full lifecycle of ML model development and deployment

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a strong understanding of the data needs across the company
• Define a vision for core data systems, such as Figma’s data catalog, to enable key stakeholders across the company to easily understand and use data at scale to drive business needs and product improvements
• Partner with a wide range of cross-functional partners across engineering, data science, research, and product to design infrastructure to train, deploy, and serve AI/ML models at scale
• Partner with engineering to set strategy and priorities for teams and projects

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in two or more of the following areas: Data warehousing/lakehousing (eg. Snowflake, BigQuery, Iceberg), Data job orchestration (eg. Dagster, Airflow), Batch and stream processing systems (eg. Kafka, Spark, Flink), Data cataloging, discoverability, and life-cycle management, Data science models, integrations or data pipeline development (DBT, Fivetran, AirByte)
• Demonstrated ability bringing a product-centric and user-centric mindset to projects driven by platform teams
• Proven ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
• Experience working as an engineer
• Experience working on models supporting generative AI use cases and/or LLMs
