Summary
Join OpenAI's Product Policy team as a key player in shaping policies for responsible AI use. You will leverage your expertise in AI technology, consumer products, and the policy landscape to mitigate risks and ensure OpenAI's products benefit all of humanity. This role focuses on leading the team's approach to cyber usage, setting policies for acceptable use, and collaborating with various teams to address misuse. The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in the cyber threat landscape, particularly concerning generative AI, and excels in collaborating with technical teams. You will provide policy advice, collaborate cross-functionally, develop implementation standards, and identify opportunities to leverage data to inform policy work. This position is based in San Francisco, CA, Washington, DC, or remote, utilizing a hybrid work model.
Requirements
- Have worked 7+ years on cyber abuse in a policy, investigative, or intelligence, including work that specifically addressed AIβs impact on cyber use cases
- Possess excellent communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate with product managers, engineers, researchers, and executives alike
- Are comfortable with ambiguity and enjoy going 0 to 1
- Are a creative thinker with an eye for opportunities to leverage data to inform policies
- Have an understanding of how government, enterprise, and other stakeholders think about cyber policy issues
Responsibilities
- Provide tailored policy advice to technical teams based on a deep understanding of and empathy for the technical and business goals of the company, as well as a clear assessment of policy considerations
- Collaborate cross-functionally with teams across the company, including legal, integrity, ops, safety, communications, and others. You will translate policy considerations for technical teams, and vice versa
- Provide operationalizable implementation standards and enforcement protocols for partner teams to leverage in building integrity systems
- Identify opportunities to leverage data to inform our policy work
