Summary
Join ClimateWorks Foundation's Justice, Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion (JEDI) team as a Program Manager. You will provide high-level program management support, shaping and evaluating a strategic framework aligning ClimateWorks' programs with organizational justice and equity goals. Responsibilities include developing an inclusive understanding of geographic inequities, catalyzing integrated climate action, and acting as a resource for applying JEDI principles. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, partner with programs and services to explore new investment opportunities, and facilitate learning communities. The role also involves data collection, documentation of wins and lessons learned, and contributing to the JEDI team's work with funders and new work areas. The ideal candidate possesses experience in justice and equity concepts within various cultural contexts, along with at least four years of experience in relevant areas like just transition and climate justice. Requirements
- Possess experience in articulating the concepts of justice and equity within the distinct historical and cultural contexts of various countries
- Hold relevant experience of at least four or more years in the following areas: just transition, climate adaptation, climate mitigation, climate policy, and climate justice
- Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of global economic and political dynamics and their impact on climate action
- Demonstrates an understanding of change management principles and the processes integral to organizational learning
- Hold expertise in working in networked projects and teams or matrix organizations requiring diverse relationship management approaches
- Work effectively and efficiently (both virtually and in-person) with minimal supervision
- Manage time, projects, and budgets
- Possess strong writing, editing, and communications skills
- Have attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Commitment to a diverse, inclusive, and equitable work environment
- Build and sustain strong, productive relationships across different constituencies in various geographies
- Maintains global outlook and the sensibility to empathize with, and adjust to, different cultures
- Has experience leading or creating a strategy to infuse climate justice
Responsibilities
- Develop an inclusive understanding of geographic inequities, their interconnectedness with climate, environment, and energy, and their significance to ClimateWorks' overarching mission and global operations
- Catalyze an integrated approach to climate action by shaping and evaluating innovative strategies and opportunities that foster connections beyond the realm of climate
- Act as a resource and collaborative partner to effectively contextualize and steward the application of ClimateWorks’ JEDI principles across a variety of strategic initiatives
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to harmonize strategies, messaging, and resource allocation to advance a cohesive and impactful global equity-centered climate action agenda
- Partner with ClimateWorks’ programs and global services to explore new geographies and collaborative, cross-programmatic investment opportunities that champion climate justice and equity, enhance ClimateWorks' regional-focused approach, and stay ahead of emerging trends in global climate action
- Coordinate and engage in coaching initiatives that illustrate the application of learning as a strategic approach to effectively operationalize ClimateWorks’ JEDI principles
- Facilitate and contribute to learning communities and knowledge exchanges within ClimateWorks and throughout the philanthropic ecosystem, which enhance collective capacity to address global inequities and support individual countries' self-determined aspirations for a resilient climate future
- Develop and implement data collection and analysis processes designed to document learning outcomes and monitor enhancements in practices that center on justice and equity
- Collaborate to document and share wins and lessons learned by the JEDI team internally and externally
- Contribute to the JEDI team’s work to incorporate new funders and new work areas in partnership with relevant ClimateWorks Foundation teams and external partners
- Aid in quality control of outgoing work products, including creating event materials, proofreading documents, editing, and formatting Word and PowerPoint documents
- Identify, seek out, and attend professional development opportunities, including networking, informational interviews, training, projects, etc
Preferred Qualifications
- Fluent in a language other than English
- BS/MS or lived experience that allowed for the development of similar skills and knowledge
- Innovative problem-solving skills

- Competitive salary
- Geographic differential applied based on location
- Salary Range (Bay Area / NYC): $108,000 - $112,000 annually
- Salary Range (Other US): $100,000 to $108,000 annually
- International salary range - will be determined based on the location and local cost of labor
- This position is classified as Global Flexible and can work remotely within domestic US time zones
