Summary

Join 174 Power Global as a Manager, Project Development, acting as a business developer for U.S. and international solar projects. You will be responsible for all phases of project development, from identification and evaluation to realization. Collaborate with the local team and senior leadership to secure renewable power customers and manage the project pipeline. This role requires significant travel (up to 50%) and involves close collaboration with internal and external teams. You will be responsible for due diligence, financial analysis, budget preparation, permit acquisition, and negotiation of interconnection agreements. The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience in renewable energy development, particularly solar PV, and strong negotiation skills.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of increasingly responsible experience in the development of renewable energy, particularly solar PV, power projects in U.S. or international power origination, business development, project development, marketing, or comparable experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Business, or similar discipline
  • Willingness to travel, up to 50% of the time
  • Previous applicable experience working in a commercial negotiation environment with excellent commercial management, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Experience in managing the solar energy development process
  • Intimate knowledge of the renewable energy power market and its dynamics; the ability to stay current with changing technologies, regulations, and trends, including building and maintaining strong relationships with off-takers and industry leaders
  • Impressive track record closing renewable energy deals
  • Must possess an eye for broad strategy and general management and entrepreneurial expertise acquired through leadership positions in the solar and renewable energy industry
  • Strong prioritization, communication, and organizational skills; and the ability to quickly work into new tasks and accommodate with new circumstances
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute business development opportunities from identification to completion
  • Identify and secure renewable power customers and/or transactions, and manage the pipeline of prospects
  • Work with Senior Management to identify and develop business opportunities to acquire or develop new power facilities in attractive U.S. and/or international markets
  • Interface and coordinate with a multi-disciplinary team of internal and external resources to ensure project viability
  • Participate in due diligence of projects, as appropriate
  • Serve as liaison between project development and financial analysis teams
  • Set up a detailed schedule for each task & milestone
  • Monitor and manage milestones and prepare routine progress reports
  • Prepare presentations to Senior Management as requested
  • Develop and maintain relationships with U.S. and/or international industry contacts
  • Obtain supporting data including competitive intelligence on market opportunities for new projects
  • Closely follow industry trends and competitor activities
  • Prepare project budgets and assist Management in the completion budget reviews
  • Understand permitting requirements, negotiate and obtain necessary development permits
  • Focus on putting together, negotiating, and obtaining interconnection agreements with utilities
  • Work with different internal teams to negotiate contract terms
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes
  • All other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Development
