Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering
- Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within the food production industry
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong negotiation skills
- In-depth knowledge of manufacturing industry regulations
- Solid understanding of regulatory and safety standards in food production
- Proficient in the use of computer-aided design (CAD) and project management tools
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Detail-oriented and highly organized
Responsibilities
- Manage engineering projects end-to-end
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of our manufacturing processes and equipment to enhance productivity and quality
- Negotiate best cost for equipment while maintaining supplier relationships
- Perform cost calculations and prepare financial projections
- Prepare work schedules in collaboration with the project team
- Liaise between contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers
- Create and test prototypes to ensure that designs are feasible and meet performance requirements
- Evaluate and improve manufacturing processes by analyzing system data and identifying areas for improvement
- Collaborate with other engineers, technicians, and production personnel to troubleshoot and solve mechanical problems
- Create and maintain technical documentation, such as diagrams, engineering specifications, and operating manuals
- Adhere to industry and government regulations and standards for safety, quality, and environmental impact
- Recommend and implement cost-effective solutions to reduce manufacturing expenses while maintaining product quality and employee safety
- Stay current with the latest technology and developments in the field of manufacturing engineering
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the engineering team and the organization
- Present project progress updates to all stakeholders
