Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience creating customized written content for government proposals, understanding of proposal lifecycle, and content management
  • Familiar and fluent with the Shipley proposal process
  • Bachelor’s Degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or in Information Technology
  • Excellent written and verbal skills to convey complex technical information clearly and persuasively to readers who have varying levels of technical subject matter expertise
  • Proven ability to apply principles of Standard English language usage, grammar, mechanics, etc. in written work
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in all Microsoft Office products

Responsibilities

  • Read government proposal Performance Work Statements (PWS), Requests for Information (RFIs), and associated instructions
  • Work with team to strategize response approach
  • Finds, analyzes, and synthesizes written content from proposal libraries, revises and repurposes it for new efforts, ensuring the content is tailored to meet the solicitation requirements
  • Authors complete, compliant, grammatically correct content that is accurate and easy to read for a variety of work products including, but not limited to, executive summaries, corporate experience narratives, past performances, standard business practices (project management/staffing/quality/transition plans), technical approaches, process & procedures, marketing materials, and resumes of key personnel
  • Meets assignment deadlines by understanding priorities, deliverables and seeking any clarifications as required. Escalates risks to meeting deadlines in a timely fashion
  • Performs technical rewrite/edits on proposals, as necessary
  • Maintains quality results by using templates; following proposal-writing standards and style guides
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and work flexible hours to achieve the requirements of the position
  • Able to recommend formats for effective communication of different types of information (tables, charts, images, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Information Technology
  • IT specific certifications (Sec+, MCP, MCSE, CISSP, etc.)
  • Publisher experience a plus
