Summary

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of retail agency and brokerage operations
  • Minimum 5 years insurance experience - proven ability to sell P&C insurance at a retail or wholesale level
  • Broker's license in Property and Casualty in state of domicile
  • Proficiency in understanding and keeping up to date personal sales ratios (with demonstrated insight on why the results are good, and where they can improve)
  • Thorough knowledge of all applicable coverage, policy language, and risk management concepts
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce (or similar CRM), Microsoft Sync, Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel, and enterprise software
  • Working knowledge of insurance pricing and rating concepts; claims operations; loss control operations, etc

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a business plan that maximizes new business production
  • Identify retail agencies and brokers in designated territory who have as clients / prospects potential customers for our products
  • Meet with retail brokers face to face monthly
  • Make prospecting calls weekly to existing and potential brokers
  • Review, clear, and qualify all submissions received
  • Gather and document competitive intelligence on other markets and which brokers use those markets and why
  • Input all prospecting activity in customer relationship management (CRM) software
  • Participate in networking events in the insurance and client community
