Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in food science, Regulatory Affairs, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in regulatory affairs, with a focus on the pet food industry
  • In-depth knowledge of import/export regulations, AAFCO guidelines, and international pet and feed regulations
  • Strong understanding of food labeling requirements, ingredient specifications, and manufacturing processes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven track record of successfully managing regulatory compliance projects and driving process improvements
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing regulatory landscapes and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies to ensure compliance with import and export markets and regulations
  • Stay updated on international pet and feed regulations and assess their impact on product manufacturing and distribution
  • Coordinate with internal teams, suppliers, and regulatory agencies to obtain necessary permits, licenses, and certifications for product import/export
  • Conduct regulatory assessments of new ingredients, formulations, and product designs to ensure compliance with applicable regulations
  • Collaborate with R&D and FSQA teams to address regulatory issues and implement corrective actions as needed
  • Develop and deliver training programs to educate internal stakeholders on regulatory requirements and best practices
  • Proactively identify emerging regulatory trends and potential risks, and recommend strategies to mitigate compliance challenges
  • Participate in industry associations and regulatory forums to stay informed about changes in regulations and advocate for the company's interests
