Join Packt as a Relationship Lead and play a pivotal role in our tech publishing ecosystem. Drive both author acquisition and post-publication marketing strategies. Serve as a dynamic link between subject matter experts and Packt's content goals. Discover influential tech voices, nurture author relationships, and ensure published titles achieve success. This strategic role blends people skills, product sensibility, DevRel marketing acumen, and community-building. Experience in cloud computing, infrastructure, DevOps, or DevRel is a plus. This is not a sales role.

Responsibilities

  • Drive tech book visibility on Amazon, Packt.com, and third-party sales channels by executing structured marketing campaigns
  • Develop and implement tech influencer-focused campaigns by identifying key voices across LinkedIn, Twitter/X, YouTube, and other tech platforms to amplify book launches
  • Lead outreach programs to secure endorsements, quotes, and content collaborations from respected domain influencers, aiming to drive both awareness and book sales
  • Partner with internal marketing and growth teams on metadata optimization, keyword targeting, and audience-specific messaging
  • Develop title-specific promotion plans that include Amazon reviewer outreach, email campaigns, and community activations
  • Track and report campaign performance, including influencer ROI, review sentiment, and sales impact
  • Serve as the primary lead for bulk sales initiatives, including securing large-scale orders from enterprise clients, training providers, conferences, and educational partners
  • Develop and expand relationships with third-party vendors and distribution partners to optimize Packt’s vendor strategy and unlock new revenue streams
  • Identify opportunities for long-term bulk purchasing agreements, licensing deals, or strategic partnerships with tech organizations and learning platforms
  • Coordinate with sales, marketing, and finance teams to align on pricing, delivery, and promotion for high-volume opportunities
  • Build relationships with cloud and IT practitioner communities, tech forums, and meetups to identify potential authors and amplify book launches
  • Embed Packt titles into conversations on key developer platforms such as GitHub, Stack Overflow, Reddit, and Discord through proactive outreach and advocacy tied to these events
  • Plan and support online events such as webinars, AMAs, and expert panels to showcase books and author expertise
  • Gather community insights to inform future publishing priorities and marketing tactics
  • Identify and manage credible Amazon reviewers to secure verified reviews for new releases
  • Track review volume and sentiment; collaborate with authors and internal teams to act on feedback
  • Build scalable review acquisition pipelines to support sustained post-launch visibility
  • Plan and organize deep tech events including webinars, AMAs, expert panels, and technical workshops featuring influential IT tech practitioners, authors, and leaders to spotlight emerging technologies and book content
  • Partner with respected experts in areas such as cloud, infrastructure, DevOps, Kubernetes, and platform engineering to ensure events deliver high technical value and credibility
  • Proactively scout and pitch to high-profile tech professionals, thought leaders, and practitioners for authorship opportunities
  • Align publishing offers with a tech author or expert's personal brand, expertise, and professional goals

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in cloud computing (AWS, Azure, GCP), infrastructure, DevOps, platform engineering, or related developer relations (DevRel) roles will be considered a strong plus, especially in contexts involving technologies like Kubernetes, containerization, or infrastructure automation
