Requirements

  • 10 plus years of professional experience with an engineering consulting firm
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering from an accredited program
  • Professional Engineer license (PE) required
  • Strong appreciation of and commitment to mandatory safe work practices
  • Client focused with an entrepreneurial spirit
  • Demonstrated experience with scoping, budgeting, and implementing complex and long-term site investigation and remediation programs
  • Technical experience in conceptual site model development, hydrogeological evaluations and models, and design and implementation of site remediation programs, including feasibility evaluations, remedy selection, and optimization
  • Ability to work independently and on large multi-disciplinary teams
  • Outstanding written and verbal skills
  • Demonstrated leadership and ability to mentor and develop a project team

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and establish relationships with clients to procure and manage the scope, schedule, budget, and delivery of investigation and remediation projects
  • Work directly with clients and a team to lead the delivery of projects related to providing technical advice, planning, design, permitting, and construction phase services for these projects
  • Frequently interact with clients, potential clients, owners and regulators. Business development efforts will include preparation of proposals, project interviews and marketing activities
  • Manage and supervise the projects developed utilizing Woodard & Curran technical and administrative staff
  • Lead and complete technical tasks as required to support the projects
  • Typical projects range from site assessment/investigation through remediation system design, construction, and operation
  • Specific experience and remedial focus areas include corrective measures/feasibility studies; preparation of detailed design plans and specifications; remediation construction bid evaluations; brownfields remediation and redevelopment; in-situ and ex-situ soil and groundwater remediation; vapor intrusion evaluations/mitigation; regulatory compliance; construction management; and documentation and reporting in accordance with applicable environmental laws and regulations
  • Work also involves the selection, coordination, and management of subcontractors, cost estimating, and management of the scope, schedule, and budget for various project tasks
  • Report writing and interaction with project staff, clients, and regulatory agencies will also play an important role in the candidate’s success
