  • Experience with keyword research, strategy assessments, and competitive analyses
  • Strong ability to create high quality and well-written deliverables and presentations that successfully communicate SEO opportunities & recommendations
  • High experience using SEO-related tools like Screaming Frog, DeepCrawl, BrightEdge, Searchmetrics, SEMrush, and AHREFs
  • Strong experience with Google Search Console and Google Analytics. Google Merchant Center a plus!
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills and be proficient in Powerpoint, Excel, and Word
  • Familiar with HTML, CSS, and Javascript development and constraints
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Be a self-starter and able to work both independently and in a team environment

Responsibilities

  • Reporting: develop and maintain reporting for all clients on core SEO KPIs
  • Technical Auditing: Independently identify, diagnose, and create a plan to address crawl errors, URL treatment & duplication issues, crawler accessibility and readability concerns, and site speed problems on clients’ websites
  • On-Page & Content Auditing: Diagnose keyword targeting issues as well as creation of new keyword strategy to establish optimization opportunities for on-page content expansion
  • Optimizations: Complete Meta Data, Content, Image, Video/YouTube, Site Speed, App Store, internal and external linking strategies, and all optimization projects
  • Project Planning & Roadmap Development: Audit sites, and create a multi-month-long roadmaps that are revisited and optimized on a quarterly basis
  • Development of all core deliverables, including reporting, strategy assessment, auditing, keyword research and mapping, and content optimization projects
  • Client services and management: Act as a face of DEPT by facilitating and running client calls and meetings

This is remote role, however you must be located within 50 miles of one of the following cities: New York NY; San Diego CA; Atlanta GA; Austin TX

Our SEO Account Managers are responsible for staying on top of all of the changes in the SEO space and keeping our clients and agency apprised of the latest and greatest. Account Managers manage client relationships but are also subject matter experts.

You will be tasked with helping to grow our clients’ SEO program—taking what we’ve already built and making it work better and scale even more effectively.

As an SEO Account Manager, you’ll be responsible for the following key areas: 1) auditing & identifying areas of improvement and expansion opportunities, 2) establishing and executing the SEO strategy and 3) actively managing client expectations and priorities.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Reporting: develop and maintain reporting for all clients on core SEO KPIs, including traffic, conversions (e.g. sales, leads, phone calls), organic impressions, CTR, and rankings.
  • Technical Auditing: Independently identify, diagnose, and create a plan to address crawl
  • errors, URL treatment & duplication issues, crawler accessibility and readability concerns, and site speed problems on clients’ websites.
  • On-Page & Content Auditing: Diagnose keyword targeting issues as well as creation of new keyword strategy to establish optimization opportunities for on-page content expansion, both from a commercial and editorial standpoint as well as structured data and metadata implementation
  • Optimizations: Complete Meta Data, Content, Image, Video/YouTube, Site Speed, App Store, internal and external linking strategies, and all optimization projects
  • Project Planning & Roadmap Development: Audit sites, and create a multi-month-long roadmaps that are revisited and optimized on a quarterly basis
  • Development of all core deliverables, including reporting, strategy assessment, auditing,

keyword research and mapping, and content optimization projects.

  • Client services and management: Act as a face of DEPT by facilitating and running client calls and meetings.
  • Providing consistent and well-structured follow up on status of SEO recommendations for all owned clients
  • Manage & analyze ongoing reporting to identify optimization opportunities for each of our

clients

You’ll need to have:

  • A minimum of 2-3 years of SEO-specific experience: proven prior work experience presenting findings and making recommendations for account optimizations to internal or external clients a must
  • At least 1 year of experience running & managing SEO strategy independently, either
  • in-house or agency.
  • In-depth understanding of how search engines work, SEO optimization techniques, principles of sound SEO strategies, and all key and recent industry changes.
  • Ability to think creatively and strategically with a history of successfully identifying and solving difficult website problems
  • High tolerance for change and proven track record of successfully managing accounts with various goals, moving deadlines, and changing priorities
  • Strong time and project management skills as well as high attention to detail
  • Expertise around how to research, diagnose, and resolve technical site issues. Must have a clear understanding of how and why technical issues, including crawl errors, redirection, duplication, and site speed, can impact website performance.
  • Experience with keyword research, strategy assessments, and competitive analyses.
  • Strong ability to create high quality and well-written deliverables and presentations that
  • successfully communicate SEO opportunities & recommendations
  • High experience using SEO-related tools like Screaming Frog, DeepCrawl, BrightEdge,

Searchmetrics, SEMrush, and AHREFs.

Additional things that will impress us:

  • A Google Analytics certification (will be required within first 6 months of employment)
  • Tableau or Looker Studio experience
  • You are an energetic and creative SEO enthusiast; eager to stay on top of current industry trends and AI.
  • Familiarity with common CMS & eCommerce platforms, including Drupal, WordPress,

Magento, Commerce Cloud (formerly Demandware), and Shopify.

  • Familiarity with international SEO best practices & SEO for JavaScript websites
  • Familiarity with non-traditional search engines, including Amazon, YouTube, Apple App Store, and Google Play Store.
  • Strong perspective on mobile-specific products (e.g. AMP, PWAs, and native apps) and various JavaScript frameworks (e.g. React.js, Angular.js).

The anticipated salary range for this position is $87,100 - $137,900. Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, expertise, physical location, and organizational impact. This is based on a 40-hour workweek and leveling. Keep in mind, we’re flexible.
