Responsibilities

  • Scope and conduct research to gather insights on consumer wants/needs/motivations/attitudes, behavior, preferences, and market trends that impact Glassdoor’s products and marketing strategies
  • Analyze survey data and other consumer-related data sets, using tools like cross-tabulations and segmentation. Present findings in a storytelling format that resonates with stakeholders
  • Work closely with the PMM team to align research activities with marketing and product goals. Suggest research priorities that help drive the business forward and to search for opportunities to insert relevant research insights into our product thinking and roadmaps
  • Collaborate with external contractors for specialized research projects, ensuring that their work aligns with Glassdoor’s objectives and standards
  • Run periodic brand studies to track the health of the Glassdoor brand, reporting on key metrics and identifying areas for improvement
  • Keep up-to-date with cultural, industry, and macroeconomic trends that may influence consumer behavior and inform Glassdoor’s business strategies
  • Be a champion for and represent the voice of the consumer on Glasdoor’s VOC Council
  • Oversee an always-on research panel of engaged consumers recruited to engage in surveys, discussion boards, interviews and polls to provide quick, high-quality insights on new product or content ideas and audience insights

About the Role

Glassdoor is looking for a motivated and analytical Insights Manager to join our team. In this role, you will focus on consumer insights to help shape our marketing strategies and product positioning and offerings. You will report directly to the Director of Product Marketing & Market Insights. You will work closely with Product Marketing (PMM) and external contractors to execute research projects and analyze data that will inform our decisions. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about understanding consumer behavior and translating data into actionable insights.

What You’ll Do

  • Consumer Insights Research: Scope and conduct research to gather insights on consumer wants/needs/motivations/attitudes, behavior, preferences, and market trends that impact Glassdoor’s products and marketing strategies. Types of research may include: positioning/messaging, segmentation, consumer satisfaction (CSAT), brand tracking studies, and competitive research and analysis.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze survey data and other consumer-related data sets, using tools like cross-tabulations and segmentation. Present findings in a storytelling format that resonates with stakeholders.
  • Collaboration with Product Marketing (PMM) and Cross Functional Teams: Work closely with the PMM team to align research activities with marketing and product goals. Suggest research priorities that help drive the business forward and to search for opportunities to insert relevant research insights into our product thinking and roadmaps. This position will also partner with Brand Marketing, Business Operations, and UX Research.
  • Support External Contractors: Collaborate with external contractors for specialized research projects, ensuring that their work aligns with Glassdoor’s objectives and standards.
  • Monitoring Brand Health: Run periodic brand studies to track the health of the Glassdoor brand, reporting on key metrics and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Stay Informed on Trends: Keep up-to-date with cultural, industry, and macroeconomic trends that may influence consumer behavior and inform Glassdoor’s business strategies.

Compensation and Benefits

United States - Base Salary Range*: $82,500 - 109,500

*Glassdoor base salaries are targeted to the market 75th percentile for technical roles and the 65th percentile for non-technical roles. In other words, 65-75% of comparable organizations in our industry will pay less.
