Summary

Join us as a Contract Manager to provide legal support and guidance related to client and vendor contract negotiation and other contractual matters within the business.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts
  • Juris Doctor degree or equivalent from accredited law school
  • Licensed attorney as appropriate for local jurisdiction
  • Ability to establish strong working relations with internal and external clients
  • Exemplary organizational skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, with limited supervision
  • Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to stay focused, effective and efficient in managing multiple priorities
  • Demonstrated willingness to listen and learn and proven ability to make and respectfully explain proper decisions (even when this leads to tough business discussions)
  • Proficiency in MS Office and other business applications
  • Must be able to read, write, speak fluently and comprehend the English language

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing, drafting and negotiating all commercial agreements between the business and their clients and vendors
  • Providing guidance to business teams regarding operational implications of contract terms and best practice process
  • Researching and evaluating risk factors associated with business decisions and operations, and advising on possible legal issues
  • Communicating with external and internal parties creating relationships of trust
  • Keeping business stakeholders properly and timely informed of the progress and status of the contracts
  • Keeping track of the contracting processes in the contract management and repository systems, and facilitating the signature process and uploading contracts
  • Maintaining current knowledge of changes in business law, contracts legislation and other regulations
  • Ensuring adherence to company policies, procedures and contracting
  • Recognizing where processes can be improved and taking initiative to improve

Preferred Qualifications

  • Contracting experience in pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry
  • Utilization of contract management system and maintenance of contracts metrics
