Remote Senior IT Project Manager

Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in IT project management, with three years of leading project management for IT systems
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is required and FAC-PM preferred but not required
• Proficient in using IT project management tools and platforms, as well as the Microsoft suite (Teams, Projects, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Word) and/or other project management software
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable plans for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Superior organizational abilities, including attention to detail, multitasking, and the capacity to manage multiple large-scale federal IT, cloud, and geospatial infrastructure projects simultaneously
• Bachelor’s degree/Computer Science/Information Technology

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of detailed project plans for federal IT systems initiatives, including defining project scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation
• Conduct risk assessments specific to federal IT systems projects, identifying potential technical, operational, and security risks
• Prepare and present detailed status reports to senior leadership, providing insights into project performance, risks, and milestones, with a focus on security, compliance, and infrastructure outcomes
• Support system owners, users’ other stakeholders to ensure integration of systems within the organization's broader infrastructure to include support for standing up change control board and governance procedures
• Support and maintain strong relationships with both internal stakeholders and external partners, including vendors, contractors, and other federal agencies
• Support development and maintenance of technical documentation and standard operation procedures for various systems
