Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage the SEO strategy for the company’s website, with a strong focus on increasing organic traffic and improving search engine rankings
  • Perform keyword research, competitor analysis, on-page optimisation (title tags, meta descriptions, content optimisation), and manage link-building
  • Collaborate with the inhouse team to ensure that SEO best practices are implemented in content creation and provide guidance on optimising content for search engines
  • Conduct regular technical audits of websites to identify crawl issues, site speed problems, mobile responsiveness, and other factors that may affect organic performance
  • Regularly track, report, and analyse SEO performance across websites using tools such as Google Analytics, Search Console, SEMrush, and Ahrefs
  • Conduct online research on companies for potential business leads and assist in managing a supplier database
  • Organise and implement CRM campaigns, while inputting and tracking information in CRM
  • Support in other digital marketing, including social media planning and asset development, paid search and paid social

We have recently transitioned to a consultant mode while our future plans involve expanding the permanent team to increase headcount to the previous level.

The Tonic Communications team is a dynamic group of professionals spread across various locations. We have two directors, one based in Nottingham and the other in Newcastle. Additionally, we have an account director, two account leads, and an account executive. To complement the core team, we have a talented network of approximately 10 freelancers and consultants based throughout the UK.

We’re looking for a SEO & Digital Marketing Assistant  to assist with the technical aspects of our marketing efforts. As a valued member of the team, you will work closely with the directors, playing a crucial, hands-on role in advancing the company’s marketing strategies.

In this role you will:

✨ Design, implement, and manage the SEO strategy for the company’s website, with a strong focus on increasing organic traffic and improving search engine rankings.

🚀 Perform keyword research, competitor analysis, on-page optimisation (title tags, meta descriptions, content optimisation), and manage link-building

💡 Collaborate with the inhouse team to ensure that SEO best practices are implemented in content creation and provide guidance on optimising content for search engines.

🔧 Conduct regular technical audits of websites to identify crawl issues, site speed problems, mobile responsiveness, and other factors that may affect organic performance.

📈 Regularly track, report, and analyse SEO performance across websites using tools such as Google Analytics, Search Console, SEMrush, and Ahrefs.

🔍 Conduct online research on companies for potential business leads and assist in managing a supplier database.

📊 Organise and implement CRM campaigns, while inputting and tracking information in CRM

📱 Support in other digital marketing, including social media planning and asset development, paid search and paid social.

Working Hours ⏰: This is a part-time role, with 20 hours per week. Working hours are flexible with core office hours of 9am-3pm UK time.

To excel in this role, you need:

✅ 2+ years SEO experience

✅ Sound knowledge of SEO, including technical, onsite and offsite

✅ Experience with WordPress - troubleshooting, optimizing and managing the site

✅ Experience with SEMRush/Ahrefs/similar

✅ Advanced Google Analytics/Search Console

✅ Experience in link building

✅ Familiarity in digital PR campaigns

✅ Graphic design experience desirable

✅ Proficiency in Canva

✅ Familiarity with CRM systems

✅ Good English skills
