Job description

The Company:

Our mission is to make education affordable by helping institutions increase alumni giving. The idea started with our founders’ own struggles with inadequate scholarship opportunities available to support their classmates. Watch this TEDx talk from Kalyan to learn more.

We are a bootstrapped company that has grown to be a leader in the alumni software space in the US. We’re slated for even faster growth on the path to becoming market leaders through a unique strategic partnership with Blackbaud (read more here & here)

Our customers are universities and high schools, and in most cases, we’re working with staff in these institutions’ alumni relations and fundraising offices. The value prop for them at a high level is simple - “Engage more alumni and raise more money from them.” 90%+ % of our customers are currently from the US, but we’re expanding to the UK and Canada in 2023, so we’ll start seeing more customer regions. Our team is based in India and the USA. The India team is based in Bangalore, and the US team is remote.

The Opportunity:

This is a 3-month internship with the flexibility to work at your own pace—perfect for those who thrive in a dynamic environment. Based on your performance, there is potential for this role to transition into a full-time associate position. You’ll play a pivotal role in managing our social media presence while also contributing to brand awareness and partnership campaigns. This is a great chance to gain hands-on experience and make a real impact as we grow our brand.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in crafting engaging copy and visuals for various social channels.

  • Contribute to the planning and execution of social media campaigns that align with brand goals.

  • Keep our content calendar up-to-date and ensure timely publishing of posts.

  • Research and track industry news, trends, and initiatives to inspire fresh content.

  • Monitor interactions and foster positive engagement with followers and stakeholders.

  • Track and update social media metrics, offering insights for growth opportunities.

Work Timings:

You are expected to work 4 - 6 hours a day, with flexible work hours.

Requirements:

  • 3-12 months of hands-on experience managing social media accounts (experience with SaaS, Edtech, or the US market is a bonus).

  • Strong writing and storytelling abilities to craft compelling content.

  • Proven experience managing LinkedIn accounts.

  • Excellent research skills with a keen attention to detail.

  • Basic design skills and proficiency in tools like Canva or Figma are essential.

  • Excel proficiency with a solid ability to analyze data and translate insights into actionable strategies.

  • Passionate about social media strategy and interacting with multiple stakeholders online. While the internship lasts three months, we want to convert the role into a full-time associate position based on performance. Those interested in social media and brand awareness marketing campaigns should apply.

  • Someone who loves to come up with new ideas (and can execute them!) will feel right at home.

What Does Your 3 Months Look Like at Almabase?

  • You will start owning Operational tasks as part of our Marketing campaigns. Don’t worry—we’ll be actively reviewing your work. The expectation is that you can contribute to the team’s goals as soon as possible.

  • You will get clarity on your KPIs and responsibilities for the internship.

Second Month:

  • Owning and executing the social media calendar and content pipeline.

  • Analyzing analytics and pitching engaging content ideas.

We have plenty of activities throughout the year that help build esprit de corps, such as intense cricket/football/basketball matches or fun-filled music/dance/trivia/game nights.
