Responsibilities

  • Attend an engineering delivery team stand-up with product, engineering, and QA to ensure that a critical feature for an upcoming product launch is on track
  • Attend the release planning meeting to gain a comprehensive understanding of the upcoming and subsequent releases
  • Organize and lead a meeting with product leaders to prepare for an upcoming stakeholder meeting, ensuring that demos, documentation, and pricing for new features are ready
  • Revise the product delivery plan to accommodate some new, unforeseen scope, and negotiate with stakeholders to determine which initiatives should be scaled back due to this new scope. Ensure any client-facing roadmaps are updated accordingly
  • Propose and present the upcoming quarterly plan to the executive team for feedback, and provide an update on how the product and engineering teams are progressing toward their goals halfway through the quarter
  • Participate in the weekly check-in with the VP of Engineering and Head of QA to review the progress of automating our regression test suite, with the goal of enabling more frequent company releases
  • Monitor the test case execution dashboard for the upcoming release to determine if any contingency plans are needed in case the release date is delayed
  • Develop a recommendation for implementing a best practice that will significantly enhance the overall software development lifecycle (SDLC) and improve our feature delivery process
  • 1-1 with the chief product officer and chief technology officer outlining goals for next week and outline key risks to anything in our delivery plan

  • Collaborate with the leadership team on product and delivery strategy, and oversee the investment process for major product and engineering initiatives
  • Report on the success metrics for initiatives, processes and programs, including highlighting major risks ensuring all stakeholders communications are managed effectively
  • Ensure that all business stakeholders (Sales, Sales Engineering, Implementations, Customer Success, Product Support, Legal, Finance, etc.) are aligned on what is being delivered and are prepared for any impacts to their jobs to be done
  • Manage the complex and high-volume dependencies and risks between engineering delivery teams by coordinating with stakeholders and escalating issues to leadership when needed
  • Guide, facilitate and close technical discussions to unblock program outcomes
  • Apply your technical understanding, to support and negotiate delivery timelines
  • Facilitate retros frequently to drive continuous improvement
  • As a part of closing a program or project, report on key metrics and identify opportunities for improvement, then execute on actions to address them
  • Advocate for change in program management and deliver best practices

A DAY IN THE LIFE:
