Remote US Accounting Manager

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• CPA or CMA certification or equivalent is highly desirable
• 5+ years of experience as an Accounting Manager or similar role, preferably in a fintech space or startup/fast-paced environment
• 5+ years of experience managing a team of 10 Accountants
• Strong knowledge of US accounting principles (GAAP) and financial regulations and accounting for SCorp
• Expert in cloud accounting software and systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Hurdlr)
• Hands-on experience in managing client relationships (inquiries, escalations, etc.)
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage processes to ensure that books handled by your team meet required specifications for accuracy, completeness, and tax compliance
• Interview candidates and onboard new hires
• Collaborate, coach, and provide real-time feedback to staff
• Create or update internal procedures for your function
• Work with other teams and leads to identify the best solutions for members and ensure a smooth workflow, including product testing
• Be cross-functional leaders focused on longer-term objectives
• Manage complex programs, identify and implement process improvements for the larger group or organization, and exercise business and technical understanding to drive the organization's long-term objectives
• Proactively initiate cross-functional projects and processes, make decisions about priorities, drive programs across their product areas, and show leadership and influence across teams
