Join The Center for Justice Innovation as a temporary research assistant to assist with qualitative coding and analysis of mixed-method interviews and production of the final report.
Requirements
- Advanced degree (e.g., Master’s degree or Ph.D.) OR in pursuit of such a degree plus a minimum of one year of work experience in a related field
- High social capital in the streets and direct lived experience with gun violence
- Commitment to social justice and community organizing
- Experience working on gun violence-related issues, including participating in team research projects
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Independent worker and problem solver
- Ability to multi-task
Responsibilities
- Work with NYC and Detroit participatory action research team to complete the qualitative coding and analysis of interviews conducted on gun culture in Detroit, MI
- Enter coded interviews into online qualitative data analysis software
- Assist data analysis, including developing themes from qualitative interview data
- Assist with the drafting and finalization of the research memo outlining findings
