Summary

Reporting to the Research Integrity and Ethics Manager, you will ensure compliance and promote integrity across journals and conference proceedings. Key responsibilities include managing research misconduct cases, conducting investigations, developing educational resources, and advising editorial colleagues. This role requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, 2+ years in academic journal publishing (preferably STM), and familiarity with publication ethics. Requirements

  • Exhibit strong analytical and investigative skills with a keen attention to detail
  • Communicate exceptionally, both in writing and verbally
  • Demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills, effectively managing multiple priorities
  • Exercise discretion and good judgment with highly confidential and sensitive materials
  • Have a solid understanding of the scholarly publication process
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required
  • 2+ years of experience in academic journal publishing required (preferably within the STM disciplines)
  • Familiarity with publication ethics required

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a comprehensive database of research misconduct cases, tracking progress and outcomes
  • Identify opportunities to enhance reporting systems and case management tools
  • Audit journals for compliance with peer review and research integrity best practices, highlighting areas for improvement
  • Lead cross-functional projects to develop infrastructure and workflows that support research integrity
  • Advise editorial colleagues on policies and processes related to research integrity
  • Serve as a primary contact for ethics-related inquiries, providing guidance to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Analyze the research integrity landscape to build a knowledge bank for informing new policies and processes
  • Collaborate with the Research Integrity and Ethics Manager to develop and update policies and design and deliver training programs
