Mentors provide one-on-one support, guiding students through research methodology, data collection, scientific writing, and potential publication. The program seeks experienced PhD mentors with a passion for mentoring high school students and strong communication skills. Successful mentors will help students develop critical research skills and strengthen their college applications.

Requirements

  • PhD (or currently enrolled in a PhD program) in a STEM field
  • Prior experience in research and mentorship
  • Strong communication and teaching skills
  • Passion for mentoring high school students

Responsibilities

  • Guide students in designing and conducting STEM research projects
  • Assist with literature reviews, data collection, and analysis
  • Teach fundamentals of scientific research, methodology, and writing
  • Support students in submitting to peer-reviewed high school or undergraduate journals
  • Mentor students who wish to participate in science competitions or present at conferences
  • Provide structured guidance over 10 weekly 1-hour mentorship sessions
