Sales Development Representative - Customer Acquisition Associate

Summary

Join our team as a Customer Acquisition Associate and help grow our readership and advertising partnerships! This fully remote, performance-focused sales and telemarketing role offers the opportunity to acquire new print subscribers for the Long Island Herald by engaging Long Island residents and encouraging them to re-subscribe or sign up. You will also sell branded content and directory packages to small businesses, showcasing how our solutions can help them reach new customers. This role requires a confident and empathetic communicator with sales, telemarketing, or outbound customer engagement experience. The position is a full-time independent contractor role with a 40-hour work week overlapping with US business hours.

Requirements

• A confident and empathetic communicator with a clear, engaging phone presence
• Highly proficient in English, both spoken and written, with near-native fluency
• Experienced in sales, telemarketing, or outbound customer engagement
• Persistent and self-motivated, you don’t get discouraged by a “no” and thrive on hitting goals
• Organized, tech-savvy, and comfortable using CRMs, email platforms, and AI tools
• Eager to grow within a long-term, stable remote role that rewards performance

Responsibilities

• Acquire New Print Subscribers for the Long Island Herald
• You’ll call and engage Long Island residents, starting with recently churned subscribers, to encourage them to re-subscribe or sign up for the first time
• You'll explain how our trusted, hyperlocal journalism helps people stay informed, protect their families, and feel more connected to their neighborhoods
• Your goal: Bring vital local information to more homes and help build stronger communities
• Sell Branded Content and Directory Packages to Small Businesses
• You’ll identify small business owners who could benefit from our branded content and directory solutions and show how we can help them reach new customers
• You’ll even use our proprietary AI tools to generate custom content samples to bring their brands to life
• Your goal: Help small business owners tell their stories, expand their audiences, and achieve their professional dreams
