Summary

Join YouGov's team of Sales Directors and contribute to ambitious growth goals by identifying, qualifying, and closing new business opportunities within assigned industry sectors. You will sell annual subscriptions to syndicated market research and analytics tools, aligning them with the marketing objectives of diverse B2C/B2B organizations. Success in this role requires in-depth discovery calls, strategic outreach, data synthesis, and compelling storytelling using a SaaS-based tool. A strong understanding of marketing information and data-driven decision-making is crucial, along with experience in selling data for marketing purposes. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, a team player, and adept at using Salesforce for sales management.

Requirements

  • Hold a Bachelorโ€™s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field
  • Have 5+ years of experience in new business development for consumer insights or market research sales
  • Possess knowledge of syndicated and custom consumer research
  • Have a successful sales career selling subscription services in a SaaS-based environment
  • Be a strong communicator and rapport builder, well-versed in active listening and possess a curiosity to find out the root behind consumer behaviors
  • Be willing to travel (when permissible), for sales opportunities and industry specific trade shows

Responsibilities

  • Hold in-depth discovery calls and accurately qualify potential prospects
  • Create strategic outreach plans to connect with and acquire new business partners who are not already working with YouGov
  • Quickly synthesize data and align a potential clientโ€™s needs with YouGov products/services
  • Use data in a SaaS-based tool to tell a compelling story that aligns to what the prospective client is trying to achieve
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of what information is important to marketers and how marketing decisions can be made leveraging data and analytics
  • Draw on previous case studies, anecdotes and personal examples where data has been used to drive decision making in marketing
  • Use Salesforce to organize daily sales activity, sales pipeline projections and analyze personal sales performance
  • Work with complex sales cycles that fuse together first-in-class software solutions, research methodologies and in-depth consumer insights
