Summary
Join Public, a long-term investing platform, as an API Trader Acquisition Specialist. You will be responsible for acquiring and supporting API traders, working across all departments to attract, onboard, and retain them. This involves building and maintaining a prospect pipeline, identifying external partners, and working within regulatory compliance. The role offers an uncapped bonus structure based on sales performance. You will need 5+ years of experience in consumer finance or capital markets, specific FINRA certifications, and a proven track record of sales and API trading experience. Deep expertise in capital markets and active trading is essential, along with strong problem-solving and independent work skills.
Requirements
- 5+ years experience working in a premier consumer finance and/or capital markets organization
- Series 24, Series 7, Series 4 and/or 63/66 (or other FINRA certifications)
- Track record of sales and/or direct customer acquisition in the API trading space
- Experience working within regulatory compliance constraints to deliver business outcomes
- Skills to demonstrate API trading, including coding and troubleshooting
- Ability to build processes and approaches for acquiring clients
- Deep expertise and engagement with capital markets and active trading, including equities, crypto, and options trading
- Creative problem solver on behalf of company and clients

Responsibilities
- Acquire and advocate for API traders at Public
- Work with all functions and utilize all assets at Public to attract, acquire, onboard and retain traders who use our individual API to trade
- Build and maintain a pipeline of high potential prospects, sourced from Public-generated and advocate-generated sources
- Identify and work with external partners to deliver on your goals
Preferred Qualifications
- Deep understanding of all tools and needs of API-based trading
- Equity capital markets, trading, and/or research experience
- Experience with markets and financial data (e.g., exchange data, fundamental data), and platform providers (e.g., Bloomberg)
- Fluency with data (and interest in learning) SQL and/or Python programming languages
