Requirements

  • A RIBO and/or AIC license
  • Other national licensing is considered an asset
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience, preferably in personal lines working with automobile and property insurance policies
  • Specifically experience brokering with Aviva, Intact and/or Economical
  • Exceptional communication skills and the demonstrated ability to deal effectively with all levels of internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent problem solving skills and ability to handle customer issues in a pleasant and positive manner
  • Superior time management and organizational skills to handle competing priorities
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications

Responsibilities

  • Quoting & selling personal insurance products by establishing contact with new client leads generated through a multitude of sources
  • Developing relationships with prospects, answering incoming communications, following-up on expiry date lists, re-quoting prospects from previous years & cancelled files, and contacting leads assigned to you
  • Identifying opportunities to sell additional lines of business in our well-established client base then contacting the client to present the offer
  • Creating a trusting environment that fosters referrals, new sales opportunities, and retention of existing business
  • Actively participating within the sales team and independently to continuously contribute to overall business improvement
  • Actively owning and resolving all customer inquiries, while ensuring the customers efforts are minimized
  • Accurately processing account changes when required, maintaining complete customer documentation, preparing correspondence, and documenting files for follow up
  • Tackling complex insurance-related cases, creatively utilizing all available resources until full resolution is met
  • Maintaining a current EPIC base and promptly following up on all client communications
  • Maintaining an accurate log of quotes completed, sales completed, days worked and any other measurements pertaining to monthly reporting requirements
  • Keeping up to date on company underwriting guidelines and changing markets
