Summary

Join Appspace's Accounting team as a Senior Accountant and play a key role in our growth. You will be responsible for monthly accounting close activities, intercompany reconciliation, tax compliance, and cash management. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You will collaborate with team leaders and other departments on various accounting projects and initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, 3+ years of relevant experience, and a solid understanding of accounting concepts, including US GAAP. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 3+ years of external audit, accounting, and/or financial reporting experience
  • Experience with tax compliance issues and heavy deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Highly detail-oriented and organized
  • Ability to meet a constant stream of changing deadlines
  • Solid understanding of accounting concepts, including US GAAP
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of monthly accounting close activities, including but not limited to performing GL account flux analysis, preparing complex account reconciliations, reviewing less complex account reconciliations, and preparing journal entries (including revenue, expense, payroll, intercompany transactions)
  • Work with team leaders to ensure compliance with global tax filing requirements (coordinating with the global 3rd party tax teams for income and sales tax compliance)
  • Assist leadership with cash management tasks such as updating the cash forecast
  • Coordinate more complex accounting projects and initiatives with other members of the accounting and finance team or with other departments
  • Prepare financial reports
  • Internal documentation of processes and procedures
  • Assist with external audits, both US and International
  • Understand and be familiar with functional currencies
  • Identify opportunities to drive efficiencies and process improvements in the financial close process
  • Other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA preferred
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (experience with Net Suite a plus)
