Requirements

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years supporting federal government contracting
  • Demonstrated expertise in multi-entity accounting, including financial consolidations and intercompany transactions
  • Proficient in Unanet; experience with ERP system implementation or optimization is highly desirable
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the use of pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and complex account reconciliations
  • In-depth understanding of GAAP, FAR/DFARS, and government cost accounting standards
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for periods of time
  • Ability to use a keyboard, mouse, and other equipment with or without accommodations
  • Ability to maintain awareness during business hours
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and good command of the English language

Responsibilities

  • Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including the preparation and posting of journal entries, accruals, and comprehensive account reconciliations
  • Prepare accurate and timely consolidated financial statements and reporting packages across multiple legal entities
  • Reconcile and manage cash accounts, including bank accounts, credit cards, and lines of credit, promptly investigating and resolving discrepancies
  • Maintain and update fixed asset schedules, recording depreciation, additions, and disposals in accordance with accounting standards
  • Manage full-cycle accounts payable, including invoice review, coding, approval workflows, and disbursements, ensuring compliance with FAR and internal policies
  • Review and audit employee travel and expense reports, ensuring conformance with JFTR/FTR guidelines and applicable federal per diem rates
  • Maintain up-to-date expertise in FAR/DFARS cost principles and federal government accounting standards, applying this knowledge to ensure compliance across all transactions
  • Oversee job cost allocation and cost classification, ensuring accurate treatment of direct, indirect, and unallowable expenses in accordance with contract terms and FAR Part 31
  • Ensure all accounting activities are compliant with GAAP, DCAA audit standards, and internal control procedures, supporting readiness for financial and government audits
  • Partner with leadership to optimize AP, job cost, and reporting processes for greater efficiency and accuracy
  • Support internal audits, financial reviews, and DCAA audits, implementing recommendations for stronger financial controls
