You will manage financial operations, focusing on insurance sector accounting for Managing General Agent (MGA) and Third-Party Administrator (TPA) entities. This role ensures compliance with industry regulations and contributes to sustained profitability. You will create and manage accounting processes, prepare financial statements, oversee tax and audit functions, maintain accounting software, and provide audit readiness support. The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, 2-5 years of experience (insurance sector experience required), and strong knowledge of GAAP. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation preferred
- 2-5 years of progressive accounting experience; previous experience in insurance sector accounting is required
- Strong knowledge of GAAP principles and financial reporting requirements
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment
Responsibilities
- Create, prepare, and own necessary schedules to manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting specific to insurance (MGA & TPA) operations
- Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, tailored to insurance regulatory standards
- Oversee and assist in managing any tax and corporate audit functions with particular attention to insurance premium and claims
- Assist in maintaining all accounting and finance software systems including, but not limited to, Netsuite, Brex, BILL, Snapsheet, and Navan, ensuring adjustments for insurance-specific transactions
- Provide audit readiness support particularly in compliance with insurance industry regulations as the company prepares for its first external audit
- Develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard financial assets in the insurance sector and ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and GAAP requirements
Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency in NetSuite and Snapsheet preferred but not required
