Senior Accountant

Summary

Join Recursion as a Senior Accountant and contribute to the Finance Team's success. This temporary contract role, lasting until January 2026, involves internal and external financial reporting, collaboration with the broader Finance team, and requires self-initiative and strong communication skills. You will work closely with the Accounting Manager, create GL entries, prepare reconciliations, assist in preparing finance packages, and participate in special projects. The role demands strong accounting experience, a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, and proficiency in Excel. The ideal candidate will also possess SOX experience and ERP experience (Microsoft Dynamics a plus).

Requirements

• 3+ years of accounting experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or related field is required
• SOX experience
• Working knowledge of Excel
• Experience identifying issues and resolving complex problems
• Highly positive and collaborative individual that excels at communication, developing working relationships, building consensus and fostering trust
• Flexible, organized, and able to work under time constraints/deadlines

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Accounting Manager to ensure the month-end close process runs smoothly
• Create GL entries and prepare reconciliations for the month and quarter close process
• Assist in the preparation of monthly/quarterly finance packages for senior management
• Assist on special projects and provide ad hoc analysis as directed
• Prepare financial and SOX audit testing documentation

Preferred Qualifications

• Big Four or public company a plus
• ERP experience preferred, experience with Microsoft Dynamics a plus
