Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in Accounting or Finance required
- Minimum of 3β7 years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and financial statement preparation
- Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with accounting software or ERP system (e.g., NetSuite)
- Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on data integrity
- Ability to work independently in a face paced virtual environment
Responsibilities
- Lead and execute key components of the monthly and quarterly close processes, including journal entries (accruals, deferrals, reclasses) and closing schedules
- Prepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations, ensuring completeness and accuracy in accordance with GAAP
- Perform detailed variance analysis between month over month, year over year and budget and providing commentary and insights to management
- Payroll and Benefit accounting and reconciliations
- Manage sales tax compliance, including accurate filing and reporting across applicable jurisdictions
- Support year-end audit activities by preparing schedules, responding to inquiries, and ensuring documentation completeness
- Reviewing and approving junior accounting staff transactions
- Participate in special projects, such as system enhancements, process improvements, and financial systems integration
- Support internal controls and help drive policy standardization and documentation across accounting functions
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA or progress toward certification is a plus, but not required
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities and a collaborative approach to cross-functional teamwork
