Join Weedmaps as a Senior Accountant and play a key role in the financial operations of a leading cannabis technology company. You will be responsible for the preparation, analysis, review, and reporting of financial metrics. This role involves working with various information sources and databases, performing detailed financial analyses, and assisting with quarterly tax filings and audits. You will also contribute to the monthly accounting close process and participate in projects such as external reviews and ERP implementation. The ideal candidate possesses a Bachelor's degree in a related field, 4-6 years of relevant experience, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
- Minimum of 4-6 yearsβ experience in finance or accounting related functions
- Critical thinking and analytical skills, comfortable working with high volume database
- Extensive knowledge of GAAP and application towards accounting entries
- Advanced excel skills
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion & good judgment
- Ability to work independently, strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Detail-oriented and able to perform in a high-pressure environment
Responsibilities
- Prepare journal entries and reconcile multiple general ledger accounts, including expense accruals, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, capitalized internally developed software, and tax
- Prepare and review monthly revenue and operating expenses reports using analytical procedures such as flux analysis and comparisons to other operating metrics
- Perform detailed analyses of various financial metrics for management
- Assist tax consultants with recording of quarterly tax provision and reconciliation
- Assist in the monthly accounting close process
- Assist with various projects such as external reviews, audits, taxes, and public financial reporting filing requirements
- Assist in ERP implementation of SAP
- Perform research and analysis as required
Preferred Qualifications
- Big 4 and public accounting experience a plus
- CPA preferred
- SaaS company experience a plus
- ERP or systems implementation experience a plus
- SAP and/or FinancialForce experience a plus
