Summary

Brightwheel is seeking a Senior Accounting Manager to join their Accounting team. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of progressive experience in Finance and Accounting, preferably in manufacturing and fintech industries. The role involves ensuring timely and accurate financial statements, managing internal controls, identifying system enhancements, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and assisting in the external audit process. Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in Finance and Accounting
  • Ideal experience includes a mix of accounting, public companies and startups
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred
  • Strong understanding of technical accounting guidance such as ASC 842 and ASC 606
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently across multiple projects and systems in a fast-paced team environment with time pressures
  • Experienced with consolidations (Canada a plus), payroll journal entries, reconciliations, capitalization, IPO, and auditing
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and comfort interacting with all levels of management

Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements
  • Manage and develop effective internal controls to safeguard accounting close processes and enhance the reliability of financial information
  • Identify opportunities for system enhancements and lead implementation efforts to ensure the scalability of accounting operations
  • Validate the accuracy of financial statements through analysis, internal audit, and coordination with cross-functional teams
  • Review proper inventory controls and costing accounting for reporting accuracy
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial guidance and support for various projects
  • Assist in managing the external audit process, collaborating with auditors to provide necessary documentation
