Senior Actuary

Summary

The job is for a Senior Actuary in Lemonade's Tel Aviv office. The role involves building advanced pricing models, partnering with various teams, leading predictive modeling projects, and having an integral role in developing insurance acumen. The candidate should have 10+ years of P&C actuarial experience, be a Fellow of Israel Association of Actuaries, have 4+ years of team management experience, a Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field, strong proficiency in data science programming languages like R or Python and SQL, familiarity with predictive modeling concepts, and the ability to work in an office environment at least 3 days a week.

Requirements

• 10+ years of P&C actuarial experience
• Fellow of Israel Association of Actuaries
• 4+ years of experience managing a team
• Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field
• Strong proficiency in data science programming languages such as R or Python (preferred), and database query tools such as SQL
• Familiarity with predictive modeling concepts, including supervised and unsupervised machine learning approaches such as GLMs, decision trees, gradient boosting machines, random forests, and clustering
• Ability to work in an office environment a minimum of 3 days a week

Responsibilities

• Build advanced pricing models & tools
• Partner with Data Science and Product teams
• Bring actuarial discipline to all facets of Lemonade
• Optimize customers’ experience and ensure fairness and accuracy in pricing
• Lead the development and integration of predictive modeling projects
• Bring cutting-edge technologies to rate analysis and implementation
• Build the world’s most sophisticated pricing models based on AI and ML technologies
• Lead in the design and development of internal pricing software for advanced analytics
• Effectively explain fundamental insurance metrics related to pricing and reserving financial results
• Coach and mentor actuaries and actuarial analysts as well as educate technical teams
