Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in accounts payable, with at least 2 years in a senior or leadership capacity
- Strong understanding of PO based transactions; matching processes & invoice tolerances
- Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles, particularly accounts payable
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with stakeholders
- Proven leadership experience and ability to mentor and guide junior team members
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the entire accounts payable process, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, and vendor management
- Analyze and reconcile complex accounts payable transactions, resolving discrepancies promptly
- Develop and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the accounts payable function
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements
- Prepare and analyze financial reports related to accounts payable activities
- Manage relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth operations
- Coordinate and assist with internal and external audits as required
- Mentor and train junior team members on accounts payable procedures and best practices
- Collaborate with other finance teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and support month-end close processes
- Identify and mitigate potential risks within the accounts payable function
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with NetSuite, ZipHQ, Workday, or similar accounting/booking software
- Understanding of tax regulations, including knowledge of forms such as 1099s
