Join Oscar's People team as a Senior Analyst, Benefits! You'll support the implementation, administration, and analysis of employee benefits programs. This role involves data analysis, reporting, and collaboration with various teams to ensure benefits are effective and compliant. You'll report to the Senior Manager, Benefits and work in a blended work culture, with remote options available. The position offers competitive pay, benefits, and bonus opportunities. The ideal candidate has 2+ years of experience in benefits administration and HRIS systems, along with strong analytical and communication skills.
Requirements
- 2+ years experience in benefits administration, human resources or a related field
- 2+ years experience in managing administrative tasks within HRIS systems
- Knowledge of health, welfare and retirement benefit plans, including regulatory compliance (e.g. ERISA, ACA, COBRA)
- Proficient in Excel, utilizing pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and other functions to manage and analyze large data sets and present them in clear, relatable formats
- Strong organizational and time management skills, enabling effective multitasking and timely completion of projects
- Skilled in problem-solving, with keen attention to detail and the capability to independently manage multiple projects
Responsibilities
- Support Workday benefit break-fixes and projects, including Open Enrollment, by developing test scripts, conducting testing, and engaging stakeholders
- Extract and analyze data from Workday, ensuring reconciliation with vendor systems for regular benefit audits
- Identify patterns in errors or complex processes to recommend process improvements and system enhancements, secure alignment from key stakeholders and implement approved changes
- Assist with the administration of 401(k) and Health Savings Accounts (HSAs), including routine funding reconciliation, audits, and eligibility management
- Assist in ACA compliance by preparing 1095-C data, auditing for accuracy, addressing errors, and using discretion to guide broader resolution efforts
- Serve as the primary contact for benefit integration errors, engaging stakeholders to address issues, assess larger solutions, and coordinate resolution execution
- Identify opportunities to promote employee benefits programming by aligning with monthly themes and popular topics, draft newsletter blurbs to boost engagement, and coordinating resource improvements to support effective self-service
- Prepare and organize data for internal and external benefit program needs, ensuring seamless system updates, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory standards
- Document standard operating procedures (SOPs) to establish scalable and reliable systems
- Develop and update benefit resources and materials to ensure they are current and easily accessible
- Use evaluation and judgment to identify process improvements and support cross-collaborative enhancements
- Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
- Other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years Supporting mid to large employer benefit plans with multiple vendor relationships
- 1+ years administrative experience with Workday including configuration, troubleshooting, and reporting Experience with the benefits module is a plus
- Comfortable working in fast paced environments with shifting priorities and competing demands
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Payroll, Legal and Finance teams
