Summary

Join the Building Decarbonization Coalition (BDC) as a Contractor Agent and play a vital role in expanding the adoption of cold-climate heat pump technology in Colorado. You will provide comprehensive support to HVAC contractors, guiding them through the complexities of navigating resources, incentives, and project management. Responsibilities include contractor education and training on the Contractor Hub platform, providing hands-on support for rebate applications and financing, and offering strategic guidance on bids and industry trends. The ideal candidate possesses a blend of technical knowledge, project management skills, and exceptional customer service. This is a remote position based in the Denver region with some travel required. The BDC offers a competitive salary and benefits package.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in a customer relationship management, program management, or technical education role with contractors, vendors, trades, utilities, nonprofit, government, or mission-driven organizations
  • Passion for sustainability, clean energy, climate solutions, decarbonization, and the electrification of built environments
  • Customer service mindset rooted in problem solving, agility, and continuous learning
  • Ability to quickly learn multiple digital tools and provide insights on user experience
  • Experienced in cross-functional collaboration, coordinating with internal teams and external partners to align goals and maintain seamless communication
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly to various audiences

Responsibilities

  • Socialize and deliver training and technical guidance on using the Contractor Hub and the Training Center, ensuring contractors can effectively navigate features, tools, and installation opportunities
  • Develop and distribute educational and promotional materials focused on cold-climate heat pump systems, rebate eligibility, and financing options (e.g., newsletter, social media, and marketing materials)
  • Support contractors in identifying and accessing available funding and incentives
  • Serve as a subject matter resource for contractors, specifically on cold-climate heat pump technologies, installation best practices, and rebate processes
  • Provide responsive, hands-on support via email, chatbot, and phone to troubleshoot Contractor Hub enrollment issues and assist with rebate applications, facilitate financing conversations, and other inquiry tickets
  • Offer strategic guidance on training opportunities, future bid opportunities, industry trends, and approaches to remain competitive in the market
  • Serve as a trusted advisor, walking contractors through complex processes such as application submissions and rebate collection
  • Prioritize support for Small, Minority, Woman, and Disabled Veteran-owned (SMWDV) businesses when appropriate
  • Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date contractor records within customer relationship management systems for accurate tracking and reporting
  • Track key performance indicators, such as project timelines, rebate utilization, energy outcomes, and contractor satisfaction
  • Work cross-functionally to provide insights and recommendations for our tools, using feedback loops and performance data
  • Contribute to the preparation of reports and presentations for internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Assist in shaping and refining the Contractor Hub’s service offerings in alignment with evolving contractor needs, industry trends, and new resources
  • Collaborate with BDC colleagues to support BDC’s overall contractor platform, experience, and engagement efforts

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated success supporting contractors and/or installation projects and associated timelines, resources, budgets, and risks, strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems, particularly cold-climate heat pumps, preferred
  • Understanding and experience working with rebate and incentive programs, HVAC projects, or other related electrification experiences are a plus
  • Bilingual in English-Spanish (written and verbal), desirable
  • Experience with tools such as HubSpot, Asana, Zoom, Slack, Google Slides, Google Docs, and Canva
  • Knowledge of Mixpanel, Builder.io, or AI tools are a plus
