Senior Associate, Payment Partnerships

Summary

Join Instacart's Strategic Partnerships team as an associate to support the development of its payments ecosystem. You will work closely with Partner Managers, managing high-visibility programs and collaborating with cross-functional teams (Product, Engineering, Marketing, Legal, Policy, Finance). This role involves end-to-end relationship management of external Payment Partners, negotiation support for strategic deals, tracking quarterly business reviews, and providing strategic input to Product and Engineering teams. You will also collaborate on the development of the Payments Partnerships strategy, including opportunity sizing and resource prioritization. This is a high-visibility role with significant long-term career development potential within the payments and business development industry. Requirements

• 4-6 years of business development or partnerships experience in tech or related industries
• Experience working with product and engineering teams with a desire to tackle complex problems
• Energetic, motivated self-starter who can learn quickly in a fast-paced environment and thrives in ambiguity
• High level of competency (organization, prioritization and problem-solving skills) with a detailed-oriented mindset
• You have a bias towards action, are intellectually curious, execute efficiently, and are relentlessly resourceful

Responsibilities

• Support the end-to-end relationship management of external Payment Partners in conjunction with internal Partner Manager Leads
• Negotiation Support for strategic deals from proposal stage through implementation
• Help track quarterly business reviews with partners and ensure the delivery of high impact results
• Provide a strategic business and partnership perspective to the Product and Engineering teams including developing a joint roadmap
• Collaborate and support the development of the Payments Partnerships strategy with cross-functional teams including opportunity sizing and resource prioritization to help drive the next level of innovation and growth for Instacart
• Project Management: Serve as the critical knowledge hub for initiatives, liaising with cross-functional groups, and ensuring comms are effectively distributed across all teams including executives

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in the payments or financial service industry and/or familiarity with payments, financial services, card issuing, and disbursements
