Remote Senior Business Analyst

Summary

Join Softjourn, a global software development company, as a Business Analyst working on an online banking platform for an American community bank. You will collaborate with business experts to translate their needs into comprehensive business process flows, manage development backlogs using agile methodologies, and document the system. This role requires 4+ years of BA experience in IT, 1-2 years in finance, and experience with Agile, data mapping, and modeling tools. Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential. Familiarity with banking regulations and leadership experience are beneficial.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience as a BA in the IT field
• 1-2 years of experience in the financial domain
• Experience analyzing, clarifying, and translating business requirements into functional and technical specifications
• Experience in preparing and creating specifications for IT products
• Strong analytical and creative problem-solving abilities
• Practical experience in using modeling tools and notations like BPMN/UML
• Experience in describing, analyzing and improving business processes
• Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as business presentation skills
• General API understanding
• Experience with Agile
• Experience with data mapping
• Experience as a Product Owner
• Working knowledge of Atlassian product suite (Jira, Confluence)
• At least Upper-Intermediate proficiency in English

Responsibilities

• Collaborate effectively with business subject matter experts to comprehend their roles and responsibilities, and effectively translate them into comprehensive business process flows
• Managing development backlogs using agile methodologies
• Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form into clear and manageable backlog items
• Document the system (Confluence)
• Work closely with the Business and Engineering teams to develop and maintain the product roadmap
