You will be instrumental in building and maintaining our data architecture, working with Snowflake and modern data stack technologies. Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in business intelligence engineering, data engineering, or related fields with a strong focus on Snowflake and data warehousing technologies
- Expert-level proficiency in SQL for querying large datasets and optimizing performance
- Strong experience designing, building, and maintaining data warehouses, particularly in dbt and Snowflake, including understanding of star/snowflake schemas, normalization/denormalization, and data partitioning
- Experience with modern data stack ELT tools (e.g., dbt, Airbyte, Fivetran, Airflow, Prefect) to create and manage data pipelines
- Strong knowledge of cloud-based data platforms and services, particularly within AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Experience with data modeling, creating effective data structures that support efficient querying and reporting
- Strong problem-solving abilities, with the ability to analyze complex datasets and translate them into actionable insights
- Experience using modern business intelligence tools (e.g., Sigma, Power BI, Tableau, Looker) to create data reporting solutions for both technical and non-technical users
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) to automate workflows or perform complex data transformations
- Experience working in a collaborative, cross-functional environment, providing technical expertise and ensuring alignment with business requirements
- Understanding of data governance best practices, including security, privacy, and compliance standards
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and optimize scalable ETL pipelines to load data into Snowflake from a variety of data sources (we use Airbyte, dbt Prefect, and Snowflake)
- Develop and maintain complex data models using dbt to support business intelligence and analytics needs across the company
- Create tools to ensure the data architecture is performant, scalable, and cost-effective
- Manage and maintain the Hyperproof data warehouse, ensuring that data is organized efficiently and is easily accessible for analysis and reporting
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, data analysts, and product managers, to understand business requirements and develop data solutions to meet those needs
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability through rigorous validation and quality assurance practices
- Develop and maintain dashboards in Sigma to support the reporting needs of teams across the business
- Provide mentorship to junior team members, sharing best practices and fostering a culture of continuous improvement
- Implement automated testing and monitoring of data pipelines to ensure their reliability and scalability
- Document technical solutions, data models, and best practices to ensure knowledge sharing and continuity
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with the data tools we use: dbt, Airbyte, Prefect, Snowflake, Sigma
- Experience administrating self-hosted data architecture using tools like Kubernetes, Docker, and Azure DevOps
- Knowledge of advanced statistical methods or machine learning techniques for data analysis
