Join SMX as a mission-oriented Capture Manager to drive and secure large, complex deals with DoD customers. You will play a crucial role in developing digital solutions for real-time data processing and visualization. This hybrid or remote position involves approximately 30% travel and focuses on qualifying and capturing large government acquisitions exceeding $100M. You will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team throughout the entire business development lifecycle, from initial positioning to proposal development and contract award. A proven track record of success in managing strategic bids and orchestrating multi-disciplined resources is essential. Requirements
- Active DoD Secret Clearance
- Overall 10+ years of professional or service experience with related technologies
- Bachelor's degree and a minimum 6+ years combined experience with any of the following: strategic capture, business development, proposal development, and/or solutions development
- Minimum 5+ yearsβ experience as a capture manager developing and leading multiple RFP based capture efforts that have won major multi-year DoD contracts totaling at least $100 million in the last 3 years
- Understanding of the full business development lifecycle
- Proactive, organized, aggressive, and highly-skilled professional
- Experience building winning teams that include subcontractors, whether those be small business or traditional/non-traditional defense contractors
- Strong communication and presentation skills, while maintaining a positive attitude, strong drive for results
- Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence
- Comfortable working with Business Development, Financial, Proposal, Product, and COE teams during the Capture process
Responsibilities
- Drive capture and proposal readiness from early positioning and shaping efforts
- Develop and implement win strategies
- Lead pre-Request for Proposal activities
- Participate in written/oral proposal development
- Engage in negotiations
- Manage award and transition
- Qualify and capture large $100M+ government acquisitions for the Digital Solutions Group
- Orchestrate multi-disciplined resourcing against pipeline priorities
- Contribute to decisions to Prime vs subcontract depending on pwin and customer/requirement understanding
- Contribute to proposals and the RFI, RFQ, or Capability based response processes
- Collaborate and proactively work across SMX teams to achieve broader company growth objectives and provide a strong foundation for customer success during execution
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading FEDSIM proposals
- Prior experience with structured Capture/Proposal Methodologies
- Experience interacting with and briefing senior government and industry acquisition officials
- Strong existing networking of contacts within US Space Force or other agencies leveraging remote sensing technologies for real-time processing, CJADC2, or similar
